What this zone is
Overview
How spearfishing is treated at Angolan territorial sea and tidal/continental waters.
Recreational and sports fishing (including pesca submarina) is permitted in Angolan waters: the territorial sea, waters under tidal influence, salt/brackish waters and estuaries subject to tides, and continental (inland) waters (Art. 2.º Âmbito). Sports fishing may extend beyond 12 nautical miles up to 60 nm if the boat captain is duly qualified.

Annual personal licence required; free-diving/apnea only (no scuba for spearfishing); minimum distances from nets/boats (100 m), bathing beaches (50 m) and other fishers (20 m); catch limits (3 specimens/50 kg per day; max 2 lobsters/crayfish/spider-crabs); no sale of catch.

License for Angola
Whether you need a license to spearfish here, and how to get one.
Obtained from the competent body of the Ministry of Fisheries (Ministério das Pescas), which may delegate to the competent provincial body. Competition spearfishers must additionally hold a special licence, a medical fitness certificate from the Centro de Medicina Desportiva de Angola, and pass an examination before a three-member jury (two from the Port Captaincy, one from the Angolan Sports Fishing Association).
