Overview

How spearfishing is treated at Parques Nacionales Naturales (todas las áreas marinas protegidas).

Sport fishing is prohibited inside all National Natural Parks by Article 13 of Law 2 of 1959 and Article 2.2.2.1.15.1 of Decree 1076 of 2015. This includes marine parks such as Corales del Rosario y de San Bernardo, Old Providence McBean Lagoon, Utría and Malpelo Sanctuary. AUNAP Resolution 0549 of 2022 rules do not apply inside protected areas, where the environmental authority governs.
