Largest aquatic reserve in the 2017 network (~27,000 km2), extending protection from Mayumba National Park out to the 200-nautical-mile EEZ limit. Spearfishing/fishing restricted under the protected-area regime.

Whether you need a license to spearfish here, and how to get one.
Apply to the Ministry/Direction in charge of Fisheries and Aquaculture (DGPA); permit delivered per Art. 19-20 on submission of a dossier whose composition is fixed by regulation. The Minister in charge of Fisheries issues sport-fishing permits, with prior ministerial authorisation additionally required inside marine parks (Art. 57). Artisanal fishing authorisations/cards (a separate regime) are handled by the DGPA in Libreville.
