Overview

How spearfishing is treated at Lake Chad (Lac Tchad).

Principal inland fishery, shared international waters managed under the Lake Chad Basin Commission (CBLT/LCBC) common regulation on wildlife and flora (1977). Only artisanal gear is permitted; destructive methods (firearms, explosives, electric devices, toxic products) are prohibited, which excludes spearfishing-type methods. There is no recreational spearfishing regime.
